Accessible & Inclusive Commercial Playground Equipment
Parks, playgrounds, and all play equipment must be wheelchair-accessible and meet Americans With Disabilities
An inclusive playground is intentionally designed so that children of all ages and abilities can play, be challenged, and have fun together. It goes beyond basic wheelchair accessibility and ensures that all kids have an inviting and enjoyable playground experience.
The playground must include at least one of each type of ground-level play component on an accessible route. At least 50% of the playground's elevated play components must be on an accessible route. Ramps must have handrails on both sides. Playgrounds must use specific safety surfacing that has met ADA criteria.
