Playground Maintenance & Care Guides

Organize routine care around a daily pre-opening walkthrough, periodic condition checks, and approved surface-cleaning methods. These guides bring together the handover checklist items for structures, nets, springs, PVC vinyl, and plastic slides without imposing a universal fixed maintenance interval.

Daily Pre-Opening & Periodic Checks

The project handover care manual supports routine inspection by venue staff. Use the following items to organize the daily walkthrough and subsequent condition checks.

Daily

Pre-opening walkthrough

  • Check safety netting tension and zip-tie or zipper security.
  • Confirm foam tubes, padded entrances, and replaceable pads remain in position.
  • Inspect obstacle stability, slides, and high-traffic touch points before opening.
Periodic

Structure, connection & wear inspection

  • Inspect structural pipe clamps, frame connections, and foundation or anchor bolts.
  • Check wire-rope tension, climbing nets, and structural attachment points.
  • Review trampoline springs, jumping beds, and replaceable wear pads for condition.

Use the applicable project handover instructions and actual venue operating conditions to determine the inspection schedule; a single fixed weekly or monthly interval is not assumed here.

Surface care / Materials

PVC Vinyl & Plastic Slide Care

Use the approved cleaning methods from the project care guidance rather than abrasive products or a single treatment for every material.

PVC & soft play

Vinyl covers and padded zones

Use approved neutral, non-abrasive cleaning agents for PVC vinyl upholstery, padded obstacles, foam tubes, and ball-pit zones, following the project cleaning protocol.

Slides

Plastic and fiberglass surfaces

Clean rotomolded plastic slide surfaces with approved non-abrasive products and follow the handover instructions for anti-static maintenance. Use the specified surface-care notes for fiberglass slide sections.

Wear identified

Move from care to the right support route

Review the written contract for warranty questions, or use the original project record to identify replacement pads, nets, clamps, springs, and slide components.

FAQs

Maintenance Questions

How often should a commercial playground be inspected?

Walk through the play area before opening every day, then check structures, connections and wear parts at the intervals set by your handover instructions and how busy the venue is.

Which cleaning products can I use on PVC soft play?

Use approved neutral, non-abrasive cleaning agents and follow the project cleaning protocol. Avoid abrasive products on vinyl and slide surfaces.

What should I do when I find a worn part?

Take the item out of use if it affects safety, then check the warranty terms or request a replacement matched to your original project record.
