DREAM GARDEN — COMMERCIAL PLAYGROUND SAFETY & COMPLIANCE CHECKLIST
Applicable Standards: ASTM F1918 (Soft Contained Play), ASTM F1487 (Outdoor), EN 1176 Parts 1-11 (EU), AS 4685 (Australia/NZ)

Use this checklist during factory inspection, site installation, and before public handover to ensure full compliance with municipal building codes and insurance liability standards.

1. CRITICAL FALL HEIGHT (CFH) & IMPACT ATTENUATION
[ ] Fall Zones: Minimum 1.5m (60 in) of unobstructed impact-absorbing surfacing around all open exits, slide run-outs, and elevated platforms.
[ ] Slide Run-out Surfacing: Minimum 1.8m (72 in) forward clear zone from the terminal chute with approved impact deceleration foam.
[ ] Padding Thickness: Core structural posts wrapped with minimum 15mm-20mm high-density EPE foam covered with 0.55mm fire-retardant PVC tarpaulin.
[ ] Floor Surfacing: Continuous 50mm interlocking high-density EVA/PU safety mats or poured-in-place rubber tested to ASTM F1292 / EN 1177.

2. ENTRAPMENT & HAZARD PREVENTION PROBES
[ ] Head & Neck Entrapment (Torso / Head Probes): Completely bound openings must not allow the torso probe to pass through unless the large head probe also passes freely.
[ ] Partially Bound Openings: V-shaped angles must not narrow downward below 55 degrees unless lower apex is sealed.
[ ] Finger Entrapment (8mm & 25mm Probes): Moving junctions, chain links, and tube joints must not trap test probes during travel.
[ ] Clothing / Toggle Entrapment: Slide entry transitions and platform edges checked with the ASTM/EN toggle test device to prevent hoodie cord strangulation.

3. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY & MATERIALS
[ ] Steel Framework: Hot-dip galvanized steel pipes (minimum 48mm diameter, 2.5mm wall thickness) with electrostatic anti-corrosion powder coating.
[ ] Fasteners & Clamps: High-strength ductile iron or cast aluminum alloy fasteners; all bolts countersunk or capped with anti-tamper nylon dome nuts.
[ ] Safety Netting: High-tenacity knotless polyethylene netting (mesh opening <= 35mm to prevent climbing feet and finger insertion; tensile strength >= 1,200N).
[ ] Plastic Components: Rotomolded virgin LLDPE (Samsung / ExxonMobil grades) with UV8+ rating; zero toxic phthalates (tested to REACH / RoHS).

4. FIRE SAFETY & FLAMMABILITY
[ ] PVC Tarpaulin: Certified to NFPA 701 (US) and EN 13501-1 Class B-s1, d0 (EU) flame propagation standards.
[ ] Soft Foam Cladding: Passes CA TB 117 / BS 5852 flammability tests; self-extinguishing within 5 seconds when exposed to open flame.
[ ] Foam Pit Cubes: Fire-retardant treated high-resilience polyurethane foam (density >= 25 kg/m3).

5. ACCESSIBILITY, SIGHTLINES & EMERGENCY EGRESS
[ ] Emergency Exits: Minimum 2 independent egress routes clearly marked; structures must not block fire hose reels or emergency push doors.
[ ] Parental Sightlines: 360-degree clear visibility from perimeter seating into high-energy play zones.
[ ] Toddler Separation: Physical barrier separating toddler area (0-3 yrs) from high-velocity zones (4-12 yrs).
